BERNARDI’S HOUSES Location: Kumrovec Category: Architectural and ethnological heritage

In 1955 Bernard Bernardi was given the task to design two smaller family house, which was then in Kumrovec, the birth place of Marshal Josip Broz Tito, for any architect, a great honor. Bernardo Bernardi made, a sample family house for the "hard-working people of the socialist labor on a mission in the village", that is for the heads of the nearby primary school which was built at the same time by Neven Šegvić. To build then and there was the issue of professional prestige, the ability to offer or even impose a model for consistent home anywhere across the Yugoslavia. The author has decided to build a modest Zagorje "homes" that only master architects undoubtedly recognized as a contemporary answer to the timeless topic.
